About CCT
What started in 1975 as a small community-driven dream has grown into a cornerstone of artistic expression in the Upper Cumberland. Cookeville Children’s Theatre began with a simple belief: theatre has the power to change lives. From humble beginnings—no budget, a community center stage, and a lot of determination—CCT's first show ignited a legacy that continues to inspire today.
Over the years, thousands of children have found their voices on stage and developed their craft backstage. These young performers have built lifelong friendships, discovered hidden talents, and become part of something much bigger than themselves. At CCT, we don't just create shows; we cultivate a vibrant community of artists and audiences, celebrating the power of creativity and collaboration.
Since 1975, CCT has self-sustained and grown, producing over 40 seasons of award-winning productions. Our mission remains the same: to nurture young talent, foster creativity, and inspire future generations of performers and arts enthusiasts. Through our programs, we engage the community, celebrate the arts, and empower young people to dream big.
Join us as we continue to bring the magic of theatre to life, one performance at a time.
